My Approach
Central to my work with clients is the therapeutic rapport, a relationship that sets the stage for healing and is founded on connection, compassion, and collaboration. We’re in this together! My approach is relational, active, and client-centered, and I am guided by the belief that my clients are the experts on themselves. I aim to see, hear, and understand them and the multiple contexts within which they exist. I help them “peel the layers” to uncover the roots of their challenges and discomforts, identify roadblocks to change, and call on their strengths and courage to move forward.

I love working with all folks, including but not limited to those navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, big life questions, illness, shame, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. I have an affinity for working with parents, adolescents, and families experiencing challenges such as discord in the relationship or adjustments to the emotional complexities of parenthood.
I bring a substantial amount of life experience to my practice and draw on my experience as a mother, partner, former teacher, and parent educator. I also draw on my lived experience as a member of “the sandwich generation,” as well as my extensive background working with clients impacted by severe illness and cancer, including patients, caregivers, and those living with grief.
My approach is informed by Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I utilize interventions from various modalities as appropriate in meeting each client’s needs and presenting problems.

The therapeutic rapport is founded on connection, compassion, and collaboration.
